To reduce the cost of calls made from your office and home phones, Bluetone provides the following range of services:

Carrier-Pre-Selection (CPS)

CPS enables Bluetone to carry all of your outbound calls without the need for you to enter an access code, use any form of dialler or even have your PABX re-programmed. You keep your existing telephone numbers and continue to make telephone calls as usual.

The network access technology used by CPS allows traffic originating from your site to be re-routed automatically as the access code is inserted digitally at the local BT exchange. Activating CPS is very straightforward. All you need to do is submit an account application form, which authorises the changeover at the BT exchange, and Bluetone will do the rest.

With CPS, you can also opt to transfer your BT line rental to Bluetone so that you receive one bill for both your line rental and call charges (see Line rental management package below).

Least cost routing

This form of re-routing uses an access code recognised by the local exchange to send your calls over a different network. The PIN code can be entered manually, or more usually by using an auto-dialler, which inserts the code once the number has been dialled. If your telephone system incorporates a switchboard (PABX), then in most cases your PBX can be pre-programmed to re-route the calls automatically.

You will continue to receive a bill from BT for your line rental, routed via Bluetone’s partners will be invoiced to you on your monthly bill.

Line rental management package

If you opt for CPS, you can also choose to have your BT exchange lines transferred to Bluetone. Not only will you benefit from a reduction on your line rental but also your administration will be simplified as you will receive a single monthly bill for your line rental and call charges.
